On Thursday 22 April 2010 at Dobrava Hotel, the Suppliers Day took place for the fourth time running. The Day was attended by more than 90 suppliers, and from the side of Unior d.d., by the President of the Management Board Gorazd Korošec, all the chief executives and some of the sector directors. The conference
aim was to acquaint suppliers with the market situation and Unior'svision, as well as with the company's expectations from suppliers.
Purchasing has become a very important factor for successful company operation, we could say the key strategic factor, especially in these times, times of a great worldwide recession. That is why the company places great emphasis on cooperation with suppliers. Suppliers Day is thus an approach we
use to acquaint suppliers with the market situation and Unior's vision, as well as our expectations. The conference speakers included the President of the Management Board Gorazd Korošec, Member of the Board Darko Hrastnik, all the chief executives, Purchasing Director Zdenko Kovačec and Milena Vindiš, IT Sector Director. The President of the Management Board presented some of last year's key financial indicators and some of this year's indicators. The chief executives then presented the general current situations across respective programmes. The Purchasing Director, Zdenko Kovačec, set out his expectations from suppliers in these critical times and the tendency or development of purchasing
towards supply chains, the reduction of the number of suppliers, costs and similar trends. Milena Vindiš, ITS Director, spoke about the development of electronic commerce.
Present times are marked by increasingly tough operating conditions on the home
and world market. Successful, responsive, friendly and relevant interpersonal cooperation, which gives added value to both business partners, often also develops or upgrades with a strategic alliance, not a rare occurrence in Unior 's business world of today. That is why we gave the Supplier of the Year 2009 award to Tone Ofentavšek, the owner of Oplast from Tepanje, who we have worked with for a 30 long years. This award is Unior's way of thanking him for his trust, for good and successful cooperation regardless of operating conditions, crisis or no crisis, for good and flexible cooperation, in short, for appreciating all company situations.
